Bringing you news from the Bythams Primary School
At the Bythams' Primary School we hold
our annual school fair in May. It coincides
with learning and performing a May pole
dance using our very own May pole! The
children love practising their routines in
the build up to the event and this year
was no different with Hedgehogs,
Squirrels, Foxes and Badgers classes
leading the way. The fair itself was a
great success with many people
attending and enjoying stalls, games, a
bouncy castle and splat the teacher!
Thank you to all the parents and staff
who made the fair such a success and to
the children who contributed so much to
the event, either in helping to plan for the
day or by running stalls or games and
raising over £600 for the school.
In Foxes class, we have been
learning about rivers and studying their
origins and transformations as they
move out to the sea. In forest school we
built our own rivers, using elevations
and by digging trenches to watch how the flow was affected.
We have also had class trips, with Hedgehogs visiting Ferry Meadows to see different habitats, undertake a
minibeast safari and take part in some pond dipping! The children had a marvellous day exploring all of the insects
and life that can live in such a diverse area. Many miles were walked by the littlest legs leading to lots of naps, by the
children, taken on the way back to school!!!
