Bringing you news from the Bythams Primary School
Squirrels Class have had a fantastic time creating their very own toy timeline, exploring how toys have
changed through the years. The children loved investigating toys from the past and comparing them to the
ones they play with today. They were especially fascinated by toys from the 1950s and 1960s, discovering
fun and iconic items such as hula hoops, yo-yos, wind-up toys, toy cars, and early plastic dolls. It was
wonderful to see their curiosity as they explored how these toys were used and how they were different
from modern ones.
As they moved along their timeline, the children also explored toys from the 1980s and 1990s. They
were excited to learn about classics such as Rubik's Cubes, Care Bears, Transformers, Polly Pocket, and
Tamagotchis. Many were surprised by how different these toys were compared to modern technologybased games, yet they could still see how fun they must have been.
Meanwhile, Hedgehogs Class showed their caring side by spoiling their mothers with a very special
EYFS spa day. The children worked hard to create a relaxing and welcoming environment, offering gentle
'treatments', calming activities, and plenty of delicious cakes and treats. They also gave thoughtful
presents, handmade cards and beautiful flowers to show their love and appreciation.
The afternoon was filled with smiles, laughter and special moments shared together. It truly was a lovely
experience for everyone involved, creating memories that both the children and their families will treasure.
