TALES OF TINY TOTS
What were the under-5s in our villages getting up to in March
In March the children enjoyed celebrating Mother's Day. We
painted flower cards to give to our Mums and Grandmas and
explored different flowers in the tuff tray before we planted
some to take home. While they were doing this the children
learnt about plants, how they grow and what they need in order
to thrive.
We also held our annual Mother's Day tea party at nursery
and all of our parents came in to enjoy a yummy afternoon tea
with the children. We very much enjoyed having some
sandwiches and cakes!
The children have also been learning about spring and
enjoying some of the sunnier weather we've had recently. The
babies have explored their spring tuff spot with coloured rice
crispies, flowers and pots. They enjoyed emptying and filling
the pots as well balancing them to make towers.
We have been doing some gardening outside, planting
some new flowers in our planters to brighten up the garden.
While we were there the children found some wriggly worms in
the compost so we had a close look at them and talked about
where they live and what they might like to eat. The children all
held the worms - they were very tickly on our hands when they
wriggled around.
We also celebrated World Book Day with bedtime stories.
The children came into nursery in their pyjamas with their
favourite stories from home and we all shared them at story
times throughout the day.
