School Bell
Bringing you news from the Bythams Primary School
We have had lots of amazing experiences that
the children have taken part in this term so far.
The one I would like to highlight is the return
of The Bythams' May Fair. This was always a
tradition here at school, but due to the
pandemic it had not been held for a number
of years.
In preparation, all the children learned a
Maypole dance to perform on the day, under
the watchful eyes of Mrs Kay and Mr Challis!
The day itself was blessed with the best
weather we could have asked for and most of
the school and some people from the wider
community attended. There was a BBQ, plenty
of games to enjoy, bird boxes to build, a
bouncy castle and various tombola stalls. Over
£1,000 was raised for the School Library Fund.
Thank you to all who attended. It was a
fabulous day for the children.
The second item to highlight is the new
Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) learning
area, which has recently been installed and
can be seen in the pictures. We wanted an
environment that reflected the community that
we serve, so please notice the Castle Bytham
sand pit and Little Bytham train!
The children have begun to make use of
these fantastic facilities, and I am sure our
page in the Glenside News will be regularly
filled with images from this new area.
